Cake text says: “Look out world, here I come! ~ Baby Boy Espiritu

This was the surprise baby shower cake we gave a dear friend days before her big D day. We were all so anxious to the baby boy’s birth and we’re all looking forward to the day he’ll surprise the world.

The other side of the world can surely feel my take’s theme this week. This is my niece’s floater and was shot when we had our beach getaway at Laiya, San Juan, Batangas last May. March to May are our summer months here in my part of the woods. Here’s another shot of the pink floater enjoying the beach and having fun with her “suitor”.

Flagedited

A not so 100% perfect concept for this week’s entry because I only got one flag up on my photo.. I earlier blogged that I won’t be joining this week’s theme but luckily, I found from my stash a picture of the Philippine flag…the flag of my motherland. This was taken at Club Manila East, one perfect summer afternoon of June 2007.

Anyway, I’ll just share a few tidbits about our flag that I remember from my History class. The symbolism includes:
White triangle – equality and fraternity
The blue field – peace, truth and justice
The red field – patriotism and valor
8 primary rays of the sun – the first eight provinces that sought independence from Spain and were placed under martial law by the Spaniards at the start of the Philippine Revolution in 1896.
3 stars – three major geographical divisions of the country: Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

No Entry.

No Photohunt entry, that is, for this weekend.

For the simple reason that I don’t have any “flags” photos which is this week’s theme. I totally forgot to prepare for this one I was so busy taking care of my sick baby. Hopefully, I will be back next week with an interesting Photohunt entry to share.

First Haircut Certificate

This is my son’s First Haircut Certificate that we just claimed last weekend from Cuts 4 Tots Kiddie Salon. He had his first haircut there last month. We availed the Certificate Package that includes the first LOCK of hair that was cut by his Daddy. I am yet to include though the before and after photos since I haven’t printed them.

The Before and After Look

I have blogged the first haircut experience in my Mommy blog and here’s an excerpt from that:

The first cut was done by his Daddy following the old belief that the first ever haircut should be done by someone who’s brainy so the baby will likewise grow smart. Although I believe that even if it wasn’t the Daddy who cut it first, Asher will grow smart still because it’s in the genes (naks!). Generally, the barber didn’t had a tough time cutting or should I say shaving his head with a razor. He was so behaved and still that he didn’t cry at all until the session ended.

Love Ko To.

“Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon”
~ Winnie The Pooh

Who in the world can’t recognize this logo?

This is inspired by my son’s fascination with balloons and Mcdonald’s. I just love how Mcdonald’s Philippines came up with their tagline: love ko ‘to (I’m lovin’ it)…short but certainly sweet.

Asher's Books
These are my son’s first books when he was just 4 months old. At such a young age, we’ve started exposing him to books so he’d develop the habit of reading. Gladly, he’s addicted with his books now at 1 year old, especially the Lift-the-Flap ones.
