Internet

Online Advertising Solution Provider

Ever since I discovered the internet a few years back, I am connected to the web most of the time and have become an online freak. I researched about my projects and assignments over the internet, got fond of emails to connect (and reconnect) with friends, got hooked with online chatting, got dependent in finding our wedding suppliers online for our wedding, developed great interest in digital scrapbooking, the digital kits of which are all downloaded from the internet. And now, I’m so into blogging lately and it has actually been my bread and butter for more than two years now. Just like most of the web entrepreneurs out there, the internet has become a vital tool for me to earn moolah as a work-at-home mom, enabling me to augment the husband’s income for the family’s needs and expenses.

I’ve just stumbled upon an article via a Twitter alert about a certain blog that has been sold for US $15 million. It’s a finance blog and is reportedly bought by a finance publishing company for its impressive unique visitor hits and outstanding alexa ranking. I must say that the author is indeed a genius considering that he maintains it by himself although I have strong feeling that he’s contracting a web advertising specialist for online lead generation.

Monitoring Internet Activities

In one of the companies I formerly worked for, the management had coordinated with our IT group to block some non-work related sites that most of the employees surf for leisure purposes. The admin were perfectly aware that such activities affect their productivity so they made more extensive efforts to eradicate it. They can’t fully block the internet services since it is also need in the business operations. In instances such as these, businesses should implore a productivity monitoring software like Activtrak. This software can monitor and record things like web based email, chat sessions and file attachments from among the employees’ day to day internet activities. For its perpetual license, minimum order of 2 can cost up to $30 but the advantages and effects on shooting up the employees’ productivity are truly worth it.

Vampire Chat Room

The Twilight New Moon movie showing on the 20th will surely awaken the vampire mood again among the Edward-Bela-Jacob fanatics out there. If you want to meet and chat with fellow vampire enthusiasts and fans, then log on at vampire chat city. This site has free vampire chat rooms and even a chatroom where people can chat via webcam.

10 Ways to Waste Time on the Internet

I believe, it’s not really a waste of time, but the following make up usually my online daily routine:

1. Check my yahoo mail and gmail accounts. As OC as I am, I usually browse through my spam folder containing varied topics: insurance, work at home jobs, fat burners and slimming pills, etc and filter the interesting from the nonsense ones
2. Read blog feeds through Google Reader
3. Get updated with friends’ and contacts’ wall posts in Facebook
4. Read parenting topics in the Girl Talk forum
5. Update my three blogs that are hosted on Blogger
6. Updated my six other blogs that are self-hosted
7. Check sites that have got to do with my online works for assignments and opportunities
9. Watch interesting Youtube videos
9. Browse and comment on new Flickr uploads from friends
10. Twitter all day long!

Two New Projects.

I feel so productive today work wise because finally, I was able to launch my newest project (a.k.a. new domain). It’s been a month since I purchased it and it’s only that I finished setting it up. Online tasks heavily poured the same week that I bought it so I didn’t have the chance to work on it in full blast. So shall I see you in my food blog soon?

There’s one more domain coming up but I can’t guarantee yet when it will go live. Curious what will it be about? Well, you’ll be seeing there home inspirations like bedrooms, home stuffs like faucet styles, etc. Got the picture? For the mean time, I can start listing down my topic outline for my very first set of entries.

Setting Up A Blog.

More and more people are getting interested to blog.  Blogs are just one of the many interesting ways and means in the internet to express oneself.  For most, it becomes a hobby but aside from that, it can also be used as an effective marketing tool to promote a business or get a strong agenda across such in the case of political blogs.  So aside from the contents or the articles to publish, the following are the other things to consider in setting up a blog:

1. Choose a good domain. As much as possible go for one that is short but striking and provides a preview what your blog is all about.
2. Carefully compare then select website hosting providers. Read reviews about their host reliability, uptime, key features, bonus features, customer support, past and current user feedbacks, user-friendliness and hosting awards and a lot more. There are helpful web hosting rating and reviews sites available such as the webhostinggeeks.com where a comprehensive comparison of the Top web hosts are tabulated. You can even read other helpful info on their blog such as the Five Reasons to Choose Unix Hosting.
3. Choose a professional theme and don’t install unnecessary widgets, eye sore banners.
4. Organize your categories.
5. Lastly, make sure to attract readership by creating quality posts.

Ebook Search Engine.

Learning about photography doesn’t need one to attend costly seminars, professional courses and trainings. There is internet that you can easily search on for tips, basic techniques, galleries and fora about everything photography related. There are also called ebooks search engine where you even download free pdf manuals or in some other formats like .doc, .txt, .rtd and powerpoint file. You can either search a particular topic, by episode, by country, by author or by title if you know of a photography e-book file. I tried searching one for myself and I stumbled upon a nice reference about basic photography techniques: from the basic camera settings, to composition, metering modes and all those basic stuffs. Thanks to these ebook search engines, researching is indeed made easier.

Marketing List.

Internet does great wonders. And I bet no one will refute my thoughts as everyone on this computer age has turned to the internet for most of our research needs. For most businesses, their marketing efforts are sometimes more concentrated on the web because, no doubt, it is the easiest and cheapest means of reaching out to tap the public interest.

Speaking of marketing efforts, I’ve learned from my business classes back in college about how a marketing list comes in handy when conducting a market study. A market study is conducted to know how feasible your business is and to carefully direct the business on which aspect to concentrate on. For example, consumer mailing lists provide the demographic and behavior data of your prospective clientele. Through criteria such as geography, age, income, gender, marital status, a proprietor is guided how to carefully plan the business’ direction. It is in this light, that online list brokers‘ assistance are well sought. Take The List Company as a good example, they provide the most effective resources for all direct mail and telemarketing needs of businesses.

Very True.

You Are 96% Addicted to the Internet

The internet is your life – seriously.

You spend so much time online, you should be a dot com millionaire!

NPR: Hughes Net – A Satellite Internet.

It has always been raining day and night this week. With that, summer has officially ended here in our neck of the woods. There is no storm warning or whatsoever but the rains were so heavy (and floods everywhere), lightnings so sharp and the loud thunders were so scary. Even my internet connection got zapped overnight last Thursday. I don’t know if there’s a connection with the heavy rains but it seems a lot of my online friends didn’t have connection neither. I tried contacting our ISP provider but my ears just went bummed out listening to the “hold” voice recording for 30 minutes: “Kindly hold, your call is important to us. Please wait as a customer service representative will get back to you shortly.” But apparently, no one got back to me until I lost the patience and hang up. Thankfully, my connection was restored the next day. Albeit slow (as it has always been), it’s better than nothing at all.

I wonder if there’s already a local provider like hughes net internet. What’s interesting about this is that it uses an advanced satellite technology that gives faster, uninterrupted and high-speed Internet service. Unlike dial up service, hughes net frees your phone lines so you can talk and surf at the same time. HughesNet Satellite Internet Service provides fifty times faster connection than dial up, professional installation, 24/7 customer support and an added bonus of $100 mail-in rebate on purchased plans. Now isn’t that cool? As soon as it becomes available here, I will not have second thoughts of turning to Hughes Net.
