Insurance

Budget Galore.

It’s the last week of the month again. It’s that time to do the math and prepare next month’s budget…and it’s definitely, NOT my favorite task. Aside from the fact that I’m not a Math person, budgeting is depressing by just the mere sight of bills, bills, bills and neverending allocations for household expenses. I’m expecting that our expenses will shoot up too as I’ll be paying my insurance online by the second week.

If only we’re rich, then budgeting would not be a problem at all.

Lucky Son

My former colleague just read my blog post the other day about my brother-in-law’s driving lessons. He messaged me over YM and said that she’s also thinking of having her 16 year old son enrolled in a driving school so that by the time he turns 18, he can readily drive the car they’d be gifting him. Wow, these boys are so lucky.

Anyway, she says that she’s also been reading about car insurance for 16 year olds well, because, naturally, she’s quite skeptic as well of her son’s amateur driving skills. After his driving lessons, she will lend or she might give it to him eventually her car but she’s worried that his son might get her Honda Civic into trouble. Of course, that would be much hassle and even expensive on her part. So a car insurance is what she’s also looking for now. I told her to check out the linked site above for her to get an idea what to look for in such type of insurance. It’s really informative because there are even articles there about the best type of car to choose for 16 year olds.

He’s Driving.

My brother-in-law has just turned 16 years old and I can sense how excited he is over one thing. He’s been waiting for this year and now that he can now officially apply for a student driver license, he’s so anxious to attend the driving classes my in laws enrolled him in. I heard it’ll start in two weeks and will last for a couple of weeks since he’ll be having it every other day after his classes in school. My in laws agreed that after he’s through with his driving lessons, he can use the second hand family car for his practice driving for now. My in laws are quiet adamant of buying him a brand new car at the moment because understandably, they’re concerned about his would be newbie driving skills. They don’t want getting into trouble paying much let’s say he incurs damages due to neophyte bumps and accidents. They’re also researching for the mean time about how much for car insurance for a 16 yr old or if there’s such coverage here in our country.

In the US where drivers are younger and much braver, they have insurance coverage for 16 year olds. However, according to the helpful article at onlineautoinsurance.com, teenage drivers may expect to pay a little bit higher premiums again to the fact that they are less experience drivers meaning they are more prone to accidents. Premiums vary among different states depending on the driving laws implemented. Further, male drivers may expect to pay a little more because according to statistics and research, majority of the compiled cases of teenage driving accidents involve male drivers. But despite of this, teenage drivers can still scout for the cheapest premiums because there are insurance sites online where you can do an apple to apple comparison of teenage car insurance.
