It’s been a practice here in my in-laws house that as soon as the Halloween is over, it’s time to unearth and put up our Christmas decors. Basically, Filipinos really do start Christmas early and in fact, we celebrate the longest holiday in the world. As soon as the calendar hits the “ber” months (September), Christmas jingles can be heard on the airwaves and the countdown to Christmas begins. Being predominantly a Catholic country, we just love the season as it is the merriest time of the year with never ending parties, bountiful feasting, gift-giving, and of course, reflecting on the true meaning of the season.
