Harry’s Lappy Stand

My Harry (which I fondly call my HP G60 lappy) is enjoying its new “partner”.  Now I can do my online thing when I’m on the bed or on the couch with much comfier and less back straining position.  I can even now watch videos or do my “copy and paste” work while lying down.

It looks cool, right?  At a first glance, it looks like a fitness equipment while my son’s nanny even said that it looks like a robot.  The stand and the panel are both adjustable in height and in degrees of inclination.  It also comes with a cooler so this laptop stand is definitely for a heavy lappy user such as me.  Got this for only Php 580 from, where else…

Steak Is Actually A Diet Meal

Why is it that an inviting plateful steak like this requires one to immediately research for quick weight loss tips?  Perhaps, it’s the notion that it yields so much fats that it causes instant tremendous weight gain.  But in reality, do you know that steak can be a typical diet food?  It is because steak is rich in protein and it actually helps reduce one’s appetite.  It does so by keeping the blood sugar levels in the fat burn range.  This means that cravings and feeling hungry are kept at bay.  This is the reason why popular diet meals (South Beach and Atkins Diet) include steak as part of their meals.  But for every steak meal, do remember to include generous portions of green veggies like green beans, broccoli, or brussel sprouts for complex carbo or brown rice, oats, and sweet potatoes as fat burning carbs.  Do not fret adding butter and olive oil because they are actually good fats.

Jo Avila’s July – August 2010 Basic Photography Seminar

The Inevitable

I was deeply saddened when I learned that a friend’s family member passed away this week.  News such as deaths and fatal sicknesses always give me the creeps.  I guess no person is comfortable to receive such notifications even though it’s something that’s inevitable in life.  Anyway, our circle of friends gathered funds so we can send the bereaved family a mass card and the excess as a little assistance to somehow lessen the funeral costs.  But more than the money we were able to raise, our prayers, for sure will surely help the family overcome this tragic ordeal.

Car Upgrade Next Year.

God willing, we may be able to upgrade our car next year.  Our beloved Green Machine, which is a Nissan Sentra 2000 model is seemingly asking for a replacement already because of its frequent breakdowns.  Just last Sunday, the engine suddenly halted while we were driving on our way home from the Church.  Good thing, the church is just nearby and the engine powered on the husband’s first try.  We were able to get home smoothly.  Moments like these make me and the husband wonder of having a new one, not necessarily brand new but something newer.  We can probably trade in the old car for a van.  Until then, we’d be dealing with hyundai accessories for a change.  Nissan is also good but we just have to try some other brands as well.

Dedication and Patience.

I have always admired the dedication and patience that coin collectors have.  Especially those who are so skilled and just by touching or feeling a certain coin, they can determine easily if it’s genuine or not.  They must be truly that fascinated that coins are their world.  Well, they can’t be blamed especially if their collections involve precious metals like genuine gold and silver coins.  Not only they’re pacifying their interest but they get rich from it!  This goes especially to gold since they never devalue over time.  Now, I’m inspired to buy gold coins as well to start a collection or perhaps turn it to an investment.  I think it’s about time to browse the website of usgoldbureau.com for a more serious browsing and delving of information this time.
