Native Gifts.

I just love it when my mom, my grandma or any of my relatives from the province visit us here in the city. I look forward to all of the native dishes that they bring for us: grandma’s home made longanisa, native chicken tinola, tupig, native eggs and all other foods that’s seemingly calling for intensive colon cleansing after. They also bring fruits that were grown in their backyards like papaya, mangoes, bananas, tamarind, chico, sinegwelas, guavas, watermelon and a lot more. But then of course, I am most excited with their presence and appreciate their time and effort to endure 8 long hours of road trip from our province up north just to visit us. How I wish I can also find time to visit them back in Isabela soon. It’s been years since I last step foot in my home town.
