Butete.

Just one of the husband’s magnificent shots when we went to Manila Ocean Park for the little one’s birthday trip. I find this fish really enchanting. I’m amused by his round, huge belly and keeps me in wonder if it’s needing some hemorrhoid pain relief when expelling the contents and wastes. By the way, this fish is called a fish puffer which belongs to the Tetraodontidae family that includes its big-bellied cousins: the balloonfish, blowfish, bubblefish, globefish, swellfish, toadfish, toadies, honey toads, and sea squab. They’re pretty dangerous and usually poisonous so eating them can really be harmful and for some, even deadly.
Just an extra trivia, too, this is more commonly known in Tagalog as Butete. So now you know where the word you usually describe a big bellied man originates, huh?
