Factory Built Homes

Now that our little mansion is a work in progress and reading so much about home construction and development stuffs, I am learning so much about home building jargons that I’ve never encountered before.

I’d like to share a few terms I’ve previously encountered about “Factory Built Homes” which might be a new learning to you, too:

* manufactured home – a home that may be single- or multi-section and is entirely built in a factory. These sections are transported to the site and installed.

* modular home – a factory-built home, modules of which are transported to the site and installed.

* panelized home – a factory-built home in which panels (a whole wall with windows, doors, wiring, etc) are transported to the site and assembled.

* pre-cut home – building materials are factory-cut to design specifications, transported to the site and assembled.
