The Family Vehicle Search.
It has been a year since my in laws bought a new family vehicle. It’s one of their dream project actually because, they say, the family is getting bigger with the coming of grand kids and with such, family trips are made more enjoyable when travelling together in a vehicle big enough for the whole family. Hubby helped them in this project as he tagged along in canvassing, browsing online for options and carefully doing the math and giving inputs with regards to the the financing and insurance schemes. In no time, they were able to get a second hand but one of the latest series of Hyundai Starex van at such a steal price. The condition was all good, the mileage meter yielded it was rarely used, the interiors are great and they were covered with a flexible term.
Hubby’s quest for this vehicle was made easier by TheCarConnection.com. That’s where he collated and studied comprehensive reviews, trims and specs and car photo galleries that helped the in laws decide the ideal car for the family. The following are the vehicles that were shortlisted on their preference:

The first one’s a 2007 Acura MDX. It’s actually more of a personal choice by hubby. He loves the 300-horsepower 3.7-liter V-6 engine feature however, this does not serve the in laws’ passenger requirement as it can only accommodate a maximum of 7 passengers. The other choice was a 2007 Honda CR-V which is equally attractive..the engine capacity, roomy interiors and “handsome” exteriors. The only thing that wasn’t appealing was the cost.
In the course of the hunt, the husband can’t help but drool over the 2008 Mazda 3 and the 2009 Nissan Maxima models. I had to stop him because we cannot jump into an unplanned huge expense as we’re saving up for a bigger project.
