Today's Flower Ruby Tuesday

Bougainvillea

“Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into.”
~Henry Beecher

Bougainvilleas are popular ornamental plants in most areas with warm climates such as the Philippines. It is sometimes called the “paper flower” because the bracts are thin and papery.

NPR: It’s Lakers VS Magic.

So it’s gonna be Orlando Magic who’ll face the Los Angeles Lakers in this season’s finals. Actually, I’m not a NBA fan but I do know about the latest updates especially with the season’s upcoming finals because that’s what everyone’s been talking out loud at Facebook. Plus, the TV’s on sports channel always whenever the husband’s home. So I don’t have a choice but to join in cheering for the team that he’s rooting for. Yes, that’s what you call a supportive wife. LOL.

And it seems I can’t get enough, I got to chat with a long time buddy a while ago and he kept on yakking how great Kobe is and how happy that the Lakers will have a home court advantage on the first couple of the finals game. He won’t be able to watch it live though because he had a tough time securing for tickets. Anyway, they have ESPN on their Direct TV package and watching it on a Direct Satellite TV is just like watching live right inside the Staples Center with its stunning high definition. For more of DirecTV Specials and its latest offerings, check out their site. Meanwhile, hope my friend forgives me for not rooting for his Kobe because the husband’s on Magic’s side. :)

La Coste or Crocs?

Camera Critters

My La Coste.
“Only when you have crossed the river can you say the crocodile has a lump on his snout”
~Ashanti Proverb quotes

This was taken more than a year ago and so I can not recall if this is a “La Coste” (the alligator logo of a French high-end apparel company) or a “Crocs” (an American company manufacturing plastic clogs). Anyway, my research led me to know that this is actually a crocodile. See that bottom teeth overlapping onto it’s top lip? Well, that’s one of the differences between a crocodile and an alligator. Further, Crocodiles have a very long, narrow, V-shaped snouts, while the alligators’ snouts are wider and U-shaped.

NPR: Investing In Gold.

How has the world financial crisis affected you in these past few months or has it been a year already? Hope it isn’t that bad as we think it would. Well no one certainly knows how will it become worse or, hope the heavens allow, dramatically improve in the next months to come. We’ve been hearing news about the giant employers laying off its employees, big companies shutting down, non-stop trend of inflation left and right and all those negative economic vibes. Instead of burrowing ourselves in this already deep pit of world recession, the wisest thing to do is think of good alternatives. Of course cutting down on expenses is the number one on the list, but putting your money into a good resounding investment now is just as wise as saving because it’s as if you’re keeping gold coins that can be a great value and worth in the future.

Let’s talk about how one’s plan to buy gold now can be of a great investment in the future. Just a good illustration I learned from GoldCoinsGain.com: If, in the 70′s, you were able to buy gold bullions worth $2,500, do you know that you can sell them now at worth $52,500? Yes, that much because gold is the ultimate asset that never devaluates. It is the most durable form of money notwithstanding the worst economic crises the world has experienced. And if you will ask where to buy gold coins at its best value, GoldCoinsGain.com provides the answer. Check them out now and start securing your future by investing on gold. By the way, if you’re thinking of other alternatives to pension or retirement plans, gold ira transfers can yield you better value for your hard earned money and will let you retire in comfort because of the gold’s strong purchasing power over time.

Asher's Books
These are my son’s first books when he was just 4 months old. At such a young age, we’ve started exposing him to books so he’d develop the habit of reading. Gladly, he’s addicted with his books now at 1 year old, especially the Lift-the-Flap ones.
